What you can do to help control big-box development in Blacksburg!
1) Join BURG, to get our newsletter and action alerts. 2) Donate to the BURG Legal Fund. The developers have taken their case to the courts, and we need to meet them there! 3) Volunteer for a BURG committee. If you are ready to get active in stopping the big box on S. Main and promoting responsible growth, sign up with one of our action committees (after you have joined BURG). Drop a line to the committee chair, and you'll be informed of the next meeting. 4) You could also write a letter to the editor at the Roanoke Times, the Collegiate Times, and any other newspapers or magazines you can think of. 5) Sign up for the BURG Google Group to participate in online discussion. 6) Educate yourself about smart growth, sustainable communities, and the big box threat. |
